We test the brand new S&W Compact. This pistol will compete with the Glock 19, but is it up to the task?

Chewed through a variety of ammunition without a single malfunction.
Is accurate enough at 10m to make for an excellent defensive pistol. The below shots were fired offhand and at pace.
Is small enough for comfortable carry, however the aggressive texture on the grip will eventually work through clothes and skin.
Price: R12 000, that includes three magazines. Additional magazines will set you back another R750 each.
Conclusion: With its interchangeable grips it will fit most hands, its very controllable when firing, accurate and easy to conceal. Tool marks are non-existing and with a name like Smith & Wesson should gives a life-time of trouble free service. If a Glock does not tick your box, this pistol is on par with the Austrian pistol, if not better.
